Our first debate was versing Harcourt Public School, we lost. I was team advisor, the one that writes notes to help rebut the other team. I thought the main mistakes were because of Martin and Gloria. Martin used the same rebut twice, and Gloria didn’t make it to 2 minutes 30 seconds. I thought Ramiz was pretty good. The audience from their school was laughing, that made my friends nervous. Thats probably why Gloria spoke so fast and didn’t get enough points. That was SLACK! Luckily at the end of the debate, the adjudicator told us our mistakes. So now we can learn from our mistakes and we will do better next time! 

May 23rd 1915

Dear Relatives,

The war is going pretty good, we have killed a lot of their comrades. Reinforcements from our side are coming, we have out-numbered them. The war will end soon, I’ll be back. Many have died, this war is pointless. None of us can defeat each other. We are running out of supplies as well. If the war doesn’t end as soon as possible, then we’ll starve. Is the Prime Minister sending you money? You should be receiving $158.68 a week. So far you should have received $634.72 because I have worked for 4 weeks. Don’t worry about me; Im as healthy and strong as always.
